Bomb Squad-Grand Rapids Connection
Most of us know that The Bomb Squad is made up of Hank Shocklee, Carl Ryder, and Eric 'Vietnam' Sadler. We also know that they were one of, if not the most important hip hop production team that will ever live. We also know they were the production team for Public Enemy. We also know they they were crazy good. But, did most of us know that they produced a record for one of our very own? By that I mean someone from Grand Rapids?/
YES! that is right! Grand Rapids very own Robert S! Robert S is a DJ over at WJNZ community activist and seemingly professional testifier. Robert S is a cool, stand up guy. I have met him several times and he has personally given me props for including "Good As Gold" on a mixtape.
His records were sought after by people such as DJ Shadow and Thes One of People Under the Stairs.Now, even though on the record he states he is from Detroit, dont let that fool you, that was just used to sell records. Please enjoy:
