The Boogie. Power 107 Saginaw. 1985

Back in the day when I was a wee lad coming up in Flint, I used to listen to the radio a lot. This is when radio was still good. There were 2 Flint stations that I could get, one being WDZZ and I dont remember the other one. I also listened to the "Electrifying Mojo" out of Detroit. His show was the best, but that is a whole other story.
One station that I could get in was Power 107.1 FM. On saturday nights The Boogie had a radio show called "Saturday Night Fresh". It was about 2 hours long, with hardly any interruptions. The Boogie played all the latest and greatest, the obscure joints, and classic breaks. It is one of the main places I got my hip hop education.
From the archives, I present you one of The Boogies shows from 1985. Dubbed from the radio onto tape, then put onto MP3 for your enjoyment, and my nostalgia purposes.
The Boogie-Saturday Night Fresh 1985 (its a huge file 133mb)
Hearing this again really makes me want to go back to being 8 years old.
P.S. Urban Militias Blog is updated again. This post is regarding the Sean Bell shooting.

Nike Considered/Premiere
Last Friday I stopped in at Premiere to check up on the shoes and came across these:
Nike Considered Humara

Most comfortable shoes I have ever put on! Even though I wasn't in the mood to spend the $100 on the shoes, I just couldnt take them off. Plus, I really am in line with what Nike Considered is doing. They are into recycled shoes, environmentally safe materials and ways to make shoes. I think that many people on G-Rad would appreciate what the Considered line is trying to do.
The inside is super comfy. Some sort of cork with some really soft rubber type material. And the sole uses the Nike Free technologoy

By the way, Premiere is doing a great job of bringing in trendy shoes and hot streetwear. If you are inclined to buy this sort of thing, check em out! Plus they got these swanky new bags in!

Neighborhood Tour-Prt 1 Nice Views
We start by looking off my front porch. If you look right over top of the gray house on the right there you can see for quit a long way. It looks really cool in the winter.

This is my street. Very suburban looking. Geo Commented when he came over that "This neighborhood doesnt exitst".I have always found that funny.

Down the hill in my neighborhood within walking is this nice park. Perfect for Thay-Thay.

Just a nice pic of the hill.

Across the street is Sullivan Field

The one thing I really like about the neighborhood and surrounding area that I live in is that it has all these really cool views of downtown. Here is one I like:

more to come later.

Breezy.mp3
A while back I bought a new car stereo so I can rock the iPod in the whip. I picked out a model, bought it, and when I got home I noticed that packaging. The sample track is "Breezy.mp3" !!!!!!!!!!! Breezy son! In case you are not getting it, a variation of my name is "DocBreezy" I have also used the title "The Breeziest". So you can see why I was hype.
Im awesome.

Later on George was so amused with my car stereo he took a video of it.
And Urban Militia's blog has been updated! Hit it up!

Urban Militia Now Available!

After lots of hard work and lots of learning experiences, Urban Militia is available!
Our first line is based on simplicity and just getting attention. AK-47's grab attention and as the infamous Jdawe said, "There's elegance in deadly weapons". The image of the AK also works to show our solidarity with resistance groups across the globe, but reading our "mission statement and beliefs" on our website will explain all of that.
The website is up and working http://www.the-urban-militia.com/ , and features an online store, a section of many links that Urban Militia likes, and the main page will serve as our blog. We will be posting on a wide range of topics from streetwear culture, to local protests, petitions, and many other political topics of interest.
I know there was some controversy over the use of images of guns, but if anyone of you want to support that would be cool. Clothes are available at All City Kicks and of course online.
Thanks to everyone who deserves it! and thanks in advance to anyone who supports.

Get real people!
Immortal Technique-"The Poverty of Philosophy" Taken From Revolutionary Vol. 1

Next time you want to create a ruckus when someone innocently used the word gay, just stop and realize how petty it is. Take that energy fighting me, who is NOT the enemy, put that energy into something that fucking matters. People are starving, homeless, exploited, killed for their beliefs, unjustly jailed, tortured and kidnapped everyday, even in our own country. When these issues are brought up on G-rad y'all go blank. You have nothing to say. Props to people who bring up those issues. A wag of the finger to those who choose instead to jump all over me for saying "gay" on a message board. Get real people.
