I dropped my friend off at the LAX airport today. He's going to New York to be a part of the NY Art Book Fair. As I was driving away from the terminal, The Ventures started playing on the radio. I imagined the grounds crew, the stewardesses, the pilots, and everyone involved acting "really cool" while walking around the airport, restocking drink carts, refueling the planes and preparing the cabin for take off.

Then, once in the air, the pilots make a calm announcement over the PA... "Ladies and Gentleman, Let's get gnarly." The Co-pilot nods with a smirk to the Captain who returns the look. Banking, rolling, hanging ten... Little grannies in the back are reaching for the doggy bags, kids are crying, but the flight crew and the pilots (especially, the pilots) are smooth.

The Captain growls an appreciative,

"Yeah, bro."

Co-pilot responds,

surfing and flying are two things I've always wanted to the same time.
