SIGSBEE SCHOOL
FEBRUARY 16, 2007 3:09 PM

Last summer, Emma and I visited an estate sale around the corner from her house a few times. From the kinds of books that we saw and the maps in the basement, we figured she was some kind of teacher. I took down a map that I wanted to buy, and behind it I found this little piece of paper attached to the wall with the Sigsbee School song. I found this photo of the original Sigsbee school ca. 1923:

I know for a fact that this is no longer Sigsbee School, but I'm uncertain if this building still stands or if this building once was at the location of the present day Sigsbee School.

The idea of transcribing an alternate history for a specific place, like Grand Rapids for instance or even more specific such as 294 Rosewood Grand Rapids, MI - is paradigmatic of G-RAD. I'm excited for the launching of the Grand Rapids Wiki - someday.

yeah yeah.

i'm pretty sure this post was made as an excuse to use the word "paradigmatic."

If it were me writing it, it would be to dwell on the word "someday" geo.
