You and yours are cordially invited to the first annual G-RAD.org 4th of July POTLUCK! Social and Film Screening (2006) to be held at mixed-feelings on July 4th, 2006 CE. the party begins at six with a potluck dinner (so bring a dish to pass!) and will feature a performance by Chicago's Locks at 7pm, followed by a screening of MTV's the State's summer classic Wet Hot American Summer at 8pm (you may want to bring a chair). the evening will conclude with a march on downtown to witness our city's finest display of airborne explosions. it's time to celebrate the birthing of our nation, guys. let's make it classy! (that means BYOB)

A lot of us missed the last street market (well, at least I did) so Bennr and Geo have offered up the front page of g-rad as reminder of this awesome event. Local artists will be selling their creations and other thangs along Division street this Saturday from 5pm-9pm.

Apparently the fine people in the martinaeu lofts (aka the artist lofts) have got a bunch of open studios open that night as well. Annamarie is hosting a sort of mini-retrospective of Civic Studio so stop by and get nostalgic or see what all the fuss is about. I hear there are a few spots left in the class for the fall, which is astounding considering the fact that I had to provide an academic reference before joining the class.

The Market opens up at 5pm and will continue until 9pm. The open studio session, dubbed "Working Division" will go on from 5pm – 11pm.

you know how you never want to cook when your kitchen is all gross and nasty, and there all kinds of dishes in your sink? POTLUCK! was a getting a lot like that. so we cleaned it out, fixed it up, and puffed it out with a few new features. most excitingly, G-RAD's first dedicated moblog, TIDBIT!

TIDBIT! allows G-RAD authors to update remotely from their camera-equipped mobile phones to discuss what they are eating right that very second! it also makes it possible to post about food related things while on the go! if you are interested in using this feature, don't hesitate to drop us a line and we will hook it up!

additionally, POTLUCK! seems to be more of a group blog these days, and less the project it initially started out as. Because of this, it seems appropriate to remove it from the project section of G-RAD and place it in it's rightful place as a group blog in the G-RAD community. POTLUCK! is up, and working, but it is by no means done. and we will let you know of more features as we roll them out!

"Google" helps usher in the elimination of comment spam? gosh, i hope so! Kevin and i installed this brilliant plugin called MT-Keystrokes that makes sure there is some kind of human input (like actual dudes actually typing on actual keyboards) when the comment forms are filled out on G-RAD blogs. hopefully this will eliminate the total SCOURGE of blogging. and allow us all to post in peace. take that you spammer robot jerks!

now if we can only do something about the forum.
