We got a dog. She's a one year old Yorkie named Ruby. She's fun, and really cute. We've had her a week and we're beginning to see what the breeder meant when she said she was "vocal." Ruby barks. Much too frequently for my tastes. But we're working on it.
In addition to looking for a job, I've begun making art again. It feels nice. Here are some poorly lit photos of what I've been up to:
Comments (2)It's been a slow summer over here at the Porcupine School of Poetry. There are a list of reasons, getting married, not having internet in our new apartment, and so on. Things seem to be getting settled, and I finally have a little studio space set up in the second bedroom. I'll have some pictures of new work to post soon. I need to start looking seriously for a steady job. But it's hard. Summer seems to be made for laziness.

A boat ride from St. Maartin to Prickly Pear, on the honeymoon.

More watersports. This time at a friend's cottage on Silver Lake on the 4th of July.
The other thing we've been into this summer is bocce ball. If you've never played it you got to give it a try. Basically, you compete by throwing balls at a smaller ball, trying to be closest. It's a cross between bowling and horseshoes. Kelly and I are currently undefeated on our home court, the Midtown Green (corner of Fountain and Eastern). Any challengers?
