Booking shows at the DAAC:
The Division Avenue Arts Cooperative currently has two rates for promoting shows at the venue:
Members:
• The DAAC retains the first $50 recieved at the Door
• additionally, 20% of the total gross after the initial $50.
Non-Members:
• The DAAC retains the first $100 recieved at the Door
• additionally, 20% of the total gross after the initial $50.
all bookings must be complete by the 20th the month prior to the date of the show, for advertisement purposes.
Information for Artists:
Fees:
• 50% commission on each artwork for each artist.
• All commission fees contribute to the improvement of The DAAC.
Scheduling:
• 1 opening and gallery hours, generally for several weeks (DAAC will
suggest dates and assist with scheduling).
• The DAAC will also assign member(s) to assist in displaying artworks and manning all gallery hours. The artist must be present at all gallery hours.
Artwork:
• Artwork must be ‘ready to hang.'
• Three dimensional artworks that are manageable to move are accepted.
Publicity:
• The DAAC will include your openings in our normal publications (Recoil, monthly schedule, website etc.).
• The artist is responsible for all other publicity and any refreshments (non-alcoholic beverages only).
• We suggest sending out a ‘save the date’ announcement of your opening(s). The DAAC will assist in creation of announcement card if needed.
Submission:
• To submit your artwork for consideration, please mail about 5 images of your work with your name on them to The DAAC.Enclose an additional self addressed, stamped, envelope so that we may return your images to you.
• Please include the submission form and any additional information
that you see necessary (i.e. artist’s statement).
The DAAC is open to any and all artists; however we have found that it is necessary to have a selection process, although it is minimal. Selections are made quarterly.
