modern vs. traditional

this is an old church they renovated and turned into an ultra-modern hotel. it's incredible, and done so well that everything works together perfectly. not tacky at all. unfortunately, it's about 250 euro for a night.

this is part of the oldest fort in the netherlands. built in the 13th century.

so anyway, i'm here in the netherlands and life is pretty great. the city is gorgeous and historical (you can still see where the romans had built their original bridge over the river back in the 13th century) and it never gets above 80 degrees. there's more pictures in my livejournal.

okay, it's just a flower. they're pretty boring.

but it's my last post from the united states for 4 months. probably. i might post from o'hare if i have lots of time to kill, and they have free wireless.

i will miss the rad rapids. and the people in it.
