Speaking of Opera...
Yesterday I saw the art for Opera GR's upcoming season. It has me so excited! Especially for the Flying Dutchman, now that I know that they are doing it. It's going to be CA-RA-ZY. I have never seen anything by Wagner* performed live, and, well, actually I don't really know anything about this opera. But I am excited about it. A lot because I really love ships. And ghosts. And, majorly, the new poster design. Well, i am glad they have changed it up a little from the cut-outs of the last two seasons at least. I am actually not to huge on the first two, just the Dutchman. Though, it is interesting that this season is so much about ladies' hair... It's funny, actually, to see how the poster design has effected me. I was initially most excited to see Carmen. Carmen is likely the opera I listen to the most on my own time (which, admittedly, isn't a whole lot) as well as one of the first operas I ever saw, so I have a weird attachment to it (and similarly Madame Butterfly). While I am excited by the prospect of seeing a production of Carmen starring Carlos D. from Interpol, I'm super hyped about The Flying Dutchman now. Not that questionable poster design could really be detrimental advertising for me personally, I was going to see all of them anyways. * Every time I hear, read, write the name Wagner I think of that line from Woody Allen'sManhattan Murder Mystery: "Everytime I hear Wagner I feel like invading Poland"

Wah? Four days in a row!?!

Wait? Carlos D is in the GR production of Carmen?

I like the old posters better, but these are great and it was time for a change. OperaGR doesn't get its props. It is really good for regional Opera, I'm currently trying to save up some money for Opera here in DC, but tickets are competitive even with Young Pro/Student discounts.

Geo, do you have weird attachment to Madame Butterfly because you have a beard and there is a girl in Taiwan that you married who still things you are coming back for her one day?
