I found this little composition on a rain drain pipe on my way to school yesterday. I think it is in part accidental.
what is the correct english expression for "rain drain pipe?"

I also discovered this new Banksy. It's all very accidental indeed.

but my favourite is this world cup themed Telekom ad. German soccer fans were accidentally placed behind razor wire at a construction site. I don't mind at all, if you care to know. They look quite scary to me.
thank you ryan!
you are right, down-spout does not seem too descriptive.. seems like we are online at the same time, how exciting!
that stencil is beautiful. (and kind of twisted?) reminds me of the antony and the johnsons song 'criple and the starfish'...
ryan | December 10, 2005 12:59 PMoh i wish i knew the song.. i still don't own a single antony and the johnsons album. banksy is a famous stencil artist from britain. if he was making paintings, he would be in all the galleries. it is really lovely to find his art all over the city.
nina | December 10, 2005 1:20 PMit reminds me of the they might be giants song "end of the tour," where it says:
never to part since the day we met
out on interstate 91
i was bent metal, you were a flaming wreck
when we kissed at the overpass
nina. this is a beautiful little composition you found. thanks for sharing. I think one would generally call this contraption a down-spout. http://dictionary.reference.com/search?q=down-spout That being said- I much much prefer rain drain pipe, it's pedestrian and poetic at the same time!
