Last Sunday we (and by that I mean my fiancé and I) decided to go for a nice little drive. The idea of a Sunday drive doesn't seem as innocent (or affordable) as it once was, what with the world teetering on an oil crisis. Nevertheless, we do like to sojourn to the beach at least once a winter. Our drive was well timed with a great episode of This American Life and the beach in Saugatuck was beautiful. The highlight of the afternoon was a restaurant that earned my prestigious “Most Worth-the-Drive Restaurant on Michigan’s West Coast Award” for 2006. It’s called Journeyman Cafe and it’s located in Fennville. For a while they were only a coffee shop, but for about a year they’ve been serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner. They’re committed to using natural and organic ingredients, and they use a lot of local produce. It was reeeeally good. Check it out.

Hey kevy,
I didn't realize this was your blog until just now. How you doin?
It was nice seeing you at the wedding.
luvy,

I really like going to lake in the winter too, but to see the frozen waves.
This Journyman Cafe place sounds really good, I hope I can convince emma to go.
Me and my girlfriend went out to Saugatuck a couple of weeks ago. I wish there was a train line that went there, I'd ride it all the time!
I'll surely try this place the next time I'm in the area.
When I go to Saugatuck for Waterfront (literal or the festival), I am totally kickin' it at Journeyman. I saw it last time I was there, but didn't have any time in between the films to check it out. =(
