G-RAD - Oh Summer... - The Porcupine School of Poetry

The Porcupine School of Poetry
The blog of Kevin Buist, artist, podcaster, web denizen.

It's been a slow summer over here at the Porcupine School of Poetry. There are a list of reasons, getting married, not having internet in our new apartment, and so on. Things seem to be getting settled, and I finally have a little studio space set up in the second bedroom. I'll have some pictures of new work to post soon. I need to start looking seriously for a steady job. But it's hard. Summer seems to be made for laziness.

More watersports. This time at a friend's cottage on Silver Lake on the 4th of July.

The other thing we've been into this summer is bocce ball. If you've never played it you got to give it a try. Basically, you compete by throwing balls at a smaller ball, trying to be closest. It's a cross between bowling and horseshoes. Kelly and I are currently undefeated on our home court, the Midtown Green (corner of Fountain and Eastern). Any challengers?

oh man. i love bocce. is started playing a couple of summers ago with my friend kevin, but emma, juan, laura, george and i played a lot last summer and this summer too.

my friend kevin gave me a bocce set as a going away present so if you and kelly are ever in chicago and are fiending for the bocce give me a call.
