PLANT! is an exploration of "place" consisting of seven neighborhood-centric sites chosen and maintained by Calvin College students. this project tracks their progress as the sites are transformed from unused space into urban gardens.

The Baxter neighborhood is defined by Wealthy Street on the north, Franklin Street on the south, Fuller Avenue on the east and Eastern Avenue on the west. One of the Baxter sites is located near the corner of Franklin Street and Neland Ave and is maintained by Eugene Dening and Craig Hoeksema. The second Baxter site is located at the SW corner of Wealthy and Diamond and is maintained by Nate Dejong, Kristen Michael and Isaac Young. [map] The East Hills neighborhood is defined by Fulton Street on the north, Wealthy Street on the south, Union on the west, and Fuller Street on the east. The East Hills site is located at East Hills Council of Neighbors, located at 31 Eastern Ave Se. This site is maintained by Stephanie Biesheuvel, Jane Cha and Heather Luimes. [map]
The Eastown neighborhood is defined by Fulton Street on the north, Franklin Street on the south, Plymouth Street on the east and Fuller on the west. The Eastown site is located ______ and is maintained by John Beauchamp and A.T. Bulus. The Fulton Heights neighborhood is defined by Michigan Street on the north, Fulton Street on the south, Plymouth street on the east and Fuller Street on the west. The Fulton Heights site is located near Alten and Michigan, close to the railroad tracks and is maintained by Joe Arens, Kate Falls and Adam Wolpa. [map]
The Heartside/Downtown neighborhood is defined by Lyon Street on the north, Wealthy Street on the south, Lafeyette street on the east and Market Street on the west. The Heartside/Downtown site is located at the southwest corner of Fulton Street and Division Avenue and is maintained by Joe Post and Ben Schaafsma. [map] The South East Community Association [SECA] neighborhood is is bound by Wealthy on the north, Lafayette and Madison on the east, Cottage-Grove on the south and Buchanan and Division on the west. The SECA site is located at the corner of Jefferson and Cottage Grove and is maintained by Brad and Nellie.
