GARBAGE CLEARED
MAY 3, 2006 5:19 PM

We completed clearing the garbage today (props to Isaac and Kristen for doing most of it) and we formed all of the dumped leaves into a "L" shaped compost heap. We also planted some bulbs and created a make-shift bench out of old boards and broken chairs. Isaac had a cool idea of making a large chess board and using all of the empty detergent bottles as chess pieces, so that will be our next endeavor. The trash was a huge bummer, but it has also provided us with some decent materials to work with. I think we are adapting and responding to it well.

BAD NEWS
APRIL 18, 2006 12:19 PM

Isaac, Kristen, and I (Nate) visited our site this morning to find allot of trash dumped on our garden. Currently we are trying to figure out what exactly we would like to do in response. We should be able to post some of the new images of the thrashed garden in the next couple of days.

PROGRESS
APRIL 13, 2006 4:06 PM

Nate, Isaac and I planted thyme and cilantro today. We also found some grates that our scarlett running beans can climb up as they grow. We plan to appropriate a picnic table from a nearby abandoned ice cream shop, and we're contemplating a pond. Here are some pictures of our progress.

EASTOWN UPDATE
APRIL 11, 2006 1:10 PM

Kristin, Nate, and I have found a site close to the border between the eastown, and easthill neighborhoods. The site is an old auto garage located on the southwest corner of wealthy and diomond. Tucked behind a storage shed is the remnants of a neglected old garden. The soil is good and we hope to revive it. (Pictures soon to come). we were initially a little concerned by some gang tags. Apparently the site has been visited since the last time we were there as evidenced by the fact that the shed has since been broken into and opened. We're going to move forward though. AT and John, I havnt heard from you guys yet but I imagine you've been talking about starting your own site in Eastown? Let me know what you guys have going on.
