Hi everyone!!!
This weekend is fast and furious so grab onto your seats it is
Word on the Street for May 31, 2006.

Uh need I Say it.. Festival is this weekend, so check out the FOOD, entertainment and art in downtown Grand Rapids, Ideal will be setting up a booth, and there is always a pretty interesting show of local talent hosted at the Grand Rapids Art Museum, Always a good time… I am looking forward to walking around checking it out and scoping the sites. Also you can always pick it up on GRTV because they cover the event every year…yep going strong all weekend long…. Saturday is usually the best…. Did I mention the FOOD???

Thursday there's is a show at the DAAC featuring Mind of Asian and I accuse. It starts at 8:30 and I really couldn’t tell you much about either band,,, speaking of the DAAC we have a board meeting this Saturday and if you are interested in attending drop me an email and I will fill you in on the details.

On Friday night I personally invite you to the Telephone Show at the Byreboem Gallery, located at 959 Lake Drive this show features 7 local artists, Kelly Allen, Alison Jones, Andrea Lutz, John Mosher, Tommy Allen, Myself, Shelly Klein, and Dan Ward. Uh that is right, I actually make artwork… Surprised? Come and check out the show it will be totally sweet.

You can start off a lazy Saturday with a pretty cool event at the Wealthy Theater, “Write. Create. You.” Features the film work of GRPS middle school students the found dude Davy Rothbart and local talent Allie Merrick are presenting…

So that leads us to later in the evening when Davy will be doing a little talk at the Wealthy theater the gig starts at 7:30 and I have to admit seen him talk a few times and each time it is actually better. This is the Talent of a This American Life affiliated writer, they have such a talent for story telling you want to hear it again and again and again,,, you get the point. This time there is also musical accompaniment.

I think I don’t need to say it but I really like Chance Jones, and I am not sure if it sounds like gushing but I think if you haven’t seen him play, or if you love him already there are very few reasons to not go to Jukes on Saturday and check him out. The show starts at 9:00 He is playing with Joyride…

Also on Saturday, North Lincoln, J Page, and New Bruises are playing at the DAAC show starts around 8:30 PM!!!

Sunday at the DAAC there is a band with outrageous hair…. The Scarred, HIV and Double Whammy are all playing.

Sunday might be a great day to check out the Otterness Exhibit that has invaded the downtown,,,, There are maps easily accessible online at http://www.tomostudio.com/ I think my favorite bit of press about the show was a comment made about how he visited our fair city, and loved it so much that he just keeps adding new pieces to the show…. Um HELLO, If the city would let me display my stuff all over and promote the crude out of it, I would put as much stuff as I could also….. So check it out. Tell me what you think. I’d like to read your comments.

So that brings us to the end. Email me. Just hit return,,,, or try my new address at Wordonethestreetgr@hotmail.com… Next I am thinking about getting a my space account…. Hee, Hee, Hee oh or check out Word on G-rad in http://www.g-rad.org/projects/ ……
