Wow guys things are happening so quickly my mind is spinning, I want to
let you know about a few things going on this weekend I apologize in
advance if I miss anything I am rushing to get it all done! I hope to
see you Friday, "Urban Lights" will be a fun event, I will be in
FWD>>Space, stop by and say "Hi."

Here is the Word on the Street for December 6th 2006

This week on December 7th from 5-7 Pm you can stop by the Padnos Gallery
in the Calder Art Center and check out work by Anne Hale, Illustration
and Elise Venia, Ceramics, I don't know Elise but I expect great things
from Anne.

This Thursday is the East Hills Business hop, from 5-9pm you can catch
carolers, horse and Carriage rides, as well as a great atmosphere. Keep
an Eye out for Rebecca Kinny and Brandy Krause who both recommend the
event.

Also on Thursday Check out the show at Skelletones they will be hosting
"the Working Title" & " Wax on Radio!"

If you are looking to increase your drawing skills or simply need access
to a model there is an open model session at Studio 71, it starts a 5:30
and runs till 7Pm, admission is $5.
Afterward you can stick around for their Urban Open Mic Night admission
for that is $3.

On Sunday December 10th Skelletones is hosting Anathello and Page
France, Anathello has a huge following and last spring topped 400, they
are playing a show coming up at Calvin so this might be a great time to
get them in before they totally blow up. This show is recommended for
Sugijan Stevens, and Snow Patrol lovers.

Friday night here it is the Big One! Urban Lights Friday night, here is
the total rundown of what is going on and what is hot on South Division,
I also have to add in that there will be some street performance along
with cool light displays made by local artists, we will also be
collecting Donations for Central High School's Art Program

At the Urban Institute of Contemporary Art

In 42 South Division Gallery Ogi- Featuring the work of Artist Ogi
Yanakiev, Open until 9PM
Next door at Heartside Gallery- Gallery Featuring the work of Intuitive
Heartside Artists

Stop by Pub 43 Open until 2 Am or Rumors Nightclub Open until 2 Am for
an alcoholic blood warmer.

If you are looking to decorate yourself this holiday season, or hav a
friend who always taks about the tattoo they are going to get "someday
stop by Mos Eisleys or Mourning Star Tattoo-

Of course Studio 71 South will be featuring the work of various local
artists/live performances, Open until 11PM

One night only 111 South Division is home to a Temporary gallery space
Open 6-11Pm including "Home" Show curator by Brad Fowler and "B.C.-A.D."
New Work by GVSU Advanced Drawing Class

In The DAAC Cooperative members will be display and selling knit goods
and Artwork., Artists include Reyanne Boyk, Jeff Vandenburg, Tiffy
Tuffington, Shannon Acles, Sarah Minnick, and Megan Bechtel Open until
11PM
Scavenger Hunt is always a great place to find something Unique Prowse
their Vintage Clothing until 10PM

Every one loves Vertigo Music pick up your favoite or new CD's Records
Open until 11PM

Shannon Graphics will be offering printing Holiday Specials and Gift
ideas, Open until 9 PM

Thirsty? The Euclid Espressos Latte and Wireless, Stop in for a coffee
drink and browse the work of Beverly Open until 12:00 am

One of the coolest things going on this night is at All City Kicks,
Featuring "06 fitted" A custom hat competition 7pm till 11PM

Yeah! So that is it for urban lights wow! So much to do! To see! To
enjoy! So onto the rest of the weekend......

Saturday! On the 9th the West Michigan Artisans are having a craft show
at St Cecilias Show is open form 10- 4 Pm.

On Saturday do something fun and different, Ice Skating at Rosa Parks
Circle, the Skate rentals are Free, the cost is a dollar, it is fun and
can I mention if not painful slightly romantic, the hours on Saturday
are from noon till 10PM

Feel Good!
You know that coat that you haven't worn in a year, that you already
replaced? Well donate it to In the Image, they have already gone through
over 4,000 winter coats this season and are in need of all sorts of warm
goods, Coats, mittens, hats sweaters, ect can be dropped off at 1823
South Division, three blocks north of Burton at the corner of Division
and Rose. They are open for donations Monday - Friday, 9:00 - 4:00 and
Saturday Mornings, 9:00 to noon.
