wednesdy in ann arbor is edgefest 2006 with evan parker and ned rothenberg. two of the killingest avant garde sax players in the world. right up there with coltrane and john zorn in my books (but probably not quite as up there as coltrane)
and thursday is the big ol' swing dance with the COUNT BASIE ORCESTRA. that should be swinging
friday i think i am off to Urbana, Illinois to see Beirut and a Hawk and a Hacksaw.
show saturday with our brother the native at (scene) metrospace in east lansing. (if you havent seen or heard them i would recomend coming out. they play great shows. pretty animal collective influenced)
show sunday in ypsilanti with the great Tralphaz and his friend Dead/Bird and some garbage shit noise from Bird From Nowhere, followed by my first ever glitchy glitch housy trancish electronica show in Ann Arbor. We are going to see Audion and i hope that i enjoy it.

i can't get over how pretentious the name is - but it seems like they have interesting shows!

it is actually a really cool place. it is an art gallery. right now they have a really neat exhibit based on sound. it is not very big but a very nice space. they only do a couple shows a month due to lack of people to run shows but it is a great space for shows. it is in an old bank. so all the bank vault shit and stuff is still in there and nice.
