beautiful poetry from the young black revolutionary that brought us "the revolution will not be televised" this is his first lp released in 1970. ive only listened to the b side and the beginning of the a side but it is brilliant work and im glad i stumbled across it

fuck the old miami

we played a show last night. it was in detroit at the old miami, first we got lost getting there. the freeway was closed so we just decided to follow the road that goes along it and that road dead ended and we were fucked so we stopped at a gas station to get directions to I-96 and there was this guy at the pump next to us and he was yelling(like really yelling) at us about jesus and 50 cents and he had a hook for a hand and wore a huge camo jacket, then we finally got there at 930ish and we brought all our gear in and such. then some girl came up to us and told us we had to leave immediatley after we played because we were under 21and the owners were being complete assholes about the whole situation and it was super bullshit. we set up and finally got to meet the sound guy. i wish i had a picture of him, straight out of static x

and he was a huge totally wow cokehead joke and was impossible to work with. finally it is 1200 and the first band goes on, a little folk duo called spanish castles, neat guitar work but horrible vocals, the put most of the audience to sleep. we played next a pretty creepy mellow set that we were really proud of and we video taped it so yay but the sound guy did come through for us after 2 hours before hand of getting shit set up and us laughing at his incompetence. we stayed low and stuck around for a while after we played because fuck them for wanting to kick us out. mawpaw was next, our laptop friends from lansing, they played a pretty rad set kind of lost focus in the end but enjoyable. next was mother whale........this is where all hell broke loose and i think the sound guy taken a little too much of whatever he was on by this time because he absolutely ruined their set. most of the time it was jesse, from mother whale, giving the sound guy the middle finger and yelling profanities and telling him to turn it up, so it would get really really really loud for a little bit and then he would turn it way down. it was bad. they ended there set with a fun harmonica and guitar jam.we had to leave after there set because it was getting really late. we packed up and went to see if we could score any gas money and the girl running the show gave us some bullshit about how they decided to give all the money to the bar and bullshit so we just left. we stopped at another gas station and bought some cookies. they were yummy. and decided to release our set as a sequel to wolf eyes' famous super rare"fuck the old miami" 3 inch, later rereleased on 12inch, it will be called something along the lines of "seriously....fuck the old miami" fun and fuck bars

the little engine that could

i used to have a train set and i would glue together these neat train station models and other fun buildings and benches and such and id put the train on the tracks and make it go around, i remember i got it for christmas and i forgot about it until just now when i was thinking about building a model of a city out of cigarrette butts under my bed, and i forgot that i was going to collect ciggggarrette butts to bbuild the model until just now when i was thinking about it i made model cars too and we would go to my dads company picnics and there would be games with prizes and i always won so i could get the wooden dinosaur skeleton models and then i would go home and put them together for weeks and for christmas one i year i got a super big version from the national geographic catalog and put that together and once we made a movie in my bedroom about a giant dinosaur skeleton that attacks my favorite model car it was neat red corvette that i painted and glued and all it was a a hard level , like a level 3 or something and it looked nice because i bonded with my dad while he helped me

im an animal

is the world ending?

when i went to bed all the clocks im my room said that it was 2:30. i was very loud throughout the night, tossing and turning and/or i was just dreaming about being very loud through out the night, tossing and turning. when i woke up, after sleeping through both my to morning classes, my alarm clock, set to go off at 6:30, said it was 10:15, while the rest of the clocks said 9:15. somehow my alarm clock was set ahead one hour during the night and im baffled.

thrifting

i went to little second hand store today and bought neato records!

i love listening to old radio shows at night while falling asleep and this should be a nice one. it is filled with goodrich tire commercials that are quite fun, new anti skid tires
the shadow - the tomb of terror and the tenor with the broken voice (starring orson welles)

i was turned onto sergio mendes after hearing some tracks on a mixtape from mikey. should be a good listen
sergio mendes and the brasil 66 - look around

this one came from fbc and they have been holding it for weeks im happy i finally had the 5 dollars to buy it
its howdy doody time!

the next two are probably the sexiest in my collection. this first one came with a neat how-to-strip book
ann corio - how to strip for you hunsband volume 2

this is by far the sexiest album cover ive ever seen, it is right up there with grover washington's mister magic and loverboy's get lucky
herbie mann - push push

i really like this last one. it is a kids album featuring irwin the disco duck (aka disco donald duck) and it has a rad comic on the back
alley cat and chicken fat - an album of fun dances with irwin the disco duck & the wibble wabble singers

the comic on the back is pretty ridiculous. it tells the story of rufus backslide's, last of the die hard hippies, plot to bring back the groove of the 60s by switching all the disco turntables to 78, a psychedelic blast from the past. rufus tricked irwin by putting his music on this album, but eventually irwin takes care of rufus and brings back the disco. he saves the decade. and on volume three of the series we return to irwins disco fun.

bags

since i cant really afford to go out and buy new things, i decided to veganize my backpack this weekend, destroying all leather components. various patches were torn off and i had to replace the bottom of the bag. it was torn out and the leg of my favorite pair of pants was used as the new bottom.

i am pretty proud of the results.

the green and blue stitches are pre-veganification. this bag has been through a lot.

i also found my game gear carrying case while looking through my closet. (veganized)

it makes a great case for my noise gear

i came back to my dorm to find two full garbage bags and trash littered over the floor.
coming back to school makes me sad and fuck college life but i like jazz. no more is on the mind

next = shoes
