movie moments
in the past few days ive lived two scenes straight from a shitty shitty shitty movie 1 the weather has not been very nice and the snow has been falling while the temperature has been rising ever so slightly causes a fun layer of slushiness on all the roads and side walks making riding a bike a very excitingly wet task especially when the sleet is pounding the face constantly while waiting cross a street bike in hand a bus drove by very close to me and there just happened to be a fairly large puddle in the street very close by so that when the bus hit this puddle it splashed all the cold icey blah onto my coat and pants making for an unpleasant ride back to the warmth of living 2 the weekend was a fun one indeed including a trip following bastard noise the locust and cattle decapitation through chicago and detroit so we drove to chicago and stayed with a highschool buddy attending school in the area area being boystown right across from a delicious vegan restaurant that we ate breakfast at in the morning the day after the show restaurant being the chicago diner so leaving at 2 oclock seemed like a rational thing to do in order to make it to detroit by 730 but we missed the skyway and sat in traffic for an hour making us miss most of bastard noises detroit set but fun at last fun at last we were ready to leave detroit but could find the highway so stopped at a gas station for directions and a nice police officer volunteered to direct us to i 96 and as we pull onto 96 from 94 we get stuck behind another car that is pulling off the highway because the hood of the car flew open and covered the windsheild but the driver stayed calm and managed to find safety while a chilly laugh came from my mouth even before all this happened friday happened friday happened when i was graciously given a ride to gr from a friend and sat at home making some music followed by a friendly noise jam followed by an even friendlier free jazz jam followed by a not so friendly minmae jam followed by a strange 20 minute sit in the car and do strange things as strangers walk by while waiting for a friend jam followed by a pretty ben and bruno jam and all ending with a sam parallel parked yay! but really it all ended with driving home but stopping for videos on the way and picking up the science of sleep and color me kubrick to watch before bed and science of sleep blew me away with the total dreaminess of the entire film and color me kubrick bored me to death even though john malcovich was great was not today a bad day for a gig was offered to me a r&b rap hippity hop one song long gig playing for give minutes and getting payed gig so the song was learned and the rehearsal was attended and i honestly feel that the bullshit that went down in this rehearsal was not worth the cash coming in that in fact is very much needed for this upcoming tour that is getting excitingly close and its pretty much set in stone minus two dates that got garbled so i have to find new venue but we do grand rapids on the 25th and the chicago and then muncie and then cincinnati and then ? and then chapel hill and the richmond and then ?baltimore? and then cleveland and the detroit so fun and i think clear days always be coming with us but its weird so weird that i will never ever even begin to forget how hard it was to carry my amp and bass on my bike tonight through the rainy slushy grossness so i put my amp in my clothing hamper that has shoulder straps and carried the bass at my side and rode slowly and dangerously into the setting sun.....
