sharing

sooo.
ive been working
while working i came to two conclusions
1) ableton live is super amazingly fun
2) ED-20ROCK! = yuck.
i have creative differences with myself
no worries tho
something has come out of the hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours and hours of sitting in front of ableton
and i think im ready to share
ive been writing too much... and i have one track totally done but not really because i have confidence issues when it comes to shit like this oh boy

jesse stephanopoulos

my only goals with this are to be "not bad" and to make a smile o fun
its making me happy so yeah....
i guess if no one digs it then ill just keep it for myself

ED-20ROCK!

i found inspiration today.
i found a new project.
ED-20ROCK! (ED-(two)(oh)ROCK!)
ED-20ROCK! is an electro cheese robotic pop opera, a robopopera, i will be writing in the days and weeks to come and hopefully it will be premiered as soon as possible*.
ED-20ROCK! is a musical rendition of 1987's cyperpunk, action film Robocop.
it will feature a grand crew. crazed cheeseball electro drum machine, hot keyboard killerness, out of this world vocals, and the most hardcore privatized police force this city has ever seen.
be excited.

goddamn this is out of control....

*i have a few dates in mind. one possible date is August 21st. this would coincide with the release of the 20th anniversary collectors edition dvd of RoboCop.

blueberries

are in season
and they are delicious

i wrote a poem about my day.

"my day with blueberries"
by sam snedeker

i made pancakes.
i returned soda bottles to buy the ingredients for a pie.
i made pie.
pancakes are wonderful.
pie is wonderful.
today was a pretty good day.

bass>no bass or bummer breeze

depression blows the bad way out proportion and makes your amazing ideas sound godly.
non depression realizes that the bad isnt that bad at all and your godly ideas arent as doable at this point in your life as you would like them to be.
therefore im staying in school. sticking to the studies.
pursuing something i really do care about.
jesse stephanopoulos us bike tour is a future reality.
it will happen.
just not right now.
thanks to those of you that were excited about this.
maybe we can ride together and get strong together and then we can all be jesse stephanopoulos us bike tour together.

in other news.
i cut my hair today.
the august 1 park show/veganish bbq is still on.
my mind is fun to play with.
love lovelove lvve love loev love
sam

and lets go on a bike ride.
i will regret this.
i will tell the whole world when the time comes.
hapyhappyhappyhappy. i guess.
or we could just play minesweeper.

trip training or jesse stephanopoulos us bike tour

i have a plan that i am super surprised i am going forth with. hopefully by sharing it with everyone in the world i will feel obligated to go through with it.

going on a noise tour in august. on my bike. solo for now. unless someone wonderful comes through and is like i want to go! the plan is to arrive in portland/eugene oregon area on september 11 (wasnt a preplanned date but it just happened to work out like that which calls for a special welcome to oregon celebration)

it looks something like this
grand rapids ---> chicago = 200 miles 3 days
chicago ---> st louis = 300 miles 4 days
st louis ---> kansas city = 250 miles 4 days
kansas city ---> omaha = 190 miles 3 days
omaha ---> denver = 550 miles 8 days
denver ---> salt lake city = 540 miles 8 days
salt lake city ---> portland = 770 miles 11 days

from there im going to put together the second leg of the trip... down through california then back east via the south west.

ive already started booking shows so that is a super step forward from just forming these plans in my head less than a week ago.

this involves dropping out of school. which i am 98% happy about, 2% bummed about. while i am giving up the intense musical environment that being a music student involves, i am gaining freedom from the darkest parts of hell. 95% of my time spent at msu was a waste but the 5% was good enough to keep me there. i will miss not having 24/7 access to a teacher, but i feel that i am committed enough to doing shit to get ahead. from day one, i felt like i didnt fit in there. everyone around me had huge dreams of being the greatest and making millions off their music but i have never ever had that desire. my personal future does not worry me. i am excited. a day by day life is the life for me (at least for now).

i decided on a name too. JESSE STEPHANOPOULOS. (because i always confuse jesse katsopolis's name, john stamos's hunk of a character on full house and leader of jesse and the rippers, with george stephanopoulos's, senior political advisor to clinton during the 1992 campaign and chief washington correspondent for abc news but i know him from childhood before school rituals involving watching good morning america with mom. two pop icons merged into one, kind of like marilyn manson but way better.)

training rides for this trip started hardcore yesterday with a good paced 30 mile loop through cascade and beyond. today i brought my mom along for a horribly hilly 40 miles downtown gr to rockford (just in time to see all the little kids go parading on their decorated 4th of july bikes) to cannonsburg to cascade to home. the second half was brutal.

i also have a new theory: in michigan the wind blows in every direction at the same time.
