ESCAPING THE HEAT
MARCH 15, 2011 6:27 PM

During a heat wave of 100 for three days, I found I did not want to add a lot more heat to my apartment by doing lots of cooking. Also, I have not done much with raw food yet. So, what did I do?

Spring salad with veggie potstickers. The potstickers needed a little cooking, but as I bought them frozen from Whole Foods, I didn't have to make them from scratch.

Good ol' fashion sandwich. Curried tofu (either fried or mashed cold with curry, turmeric, pepper and garlic), arugula, garlic, earth balance, grapeseed vegenaise between two slices of homemade wheat and flax bread (toasted). The side was more spring greens with soy ginger dressing and carrots.
