In an effort to help decide where I'm headed for graduate school, Meagan and I visited California College of the Arts in San Francisco last weekend. I think it had been at least 10 years since I was there on a family vacation, and I had forgotten how amazing it is.
That aside, in one of the studios, I bumped into the work of a second year social practices student Daniel Purbrick. I didn't have a chance to talk with him, but I liked the work. This is a photo of his waste-paper bricks (generated by his own studio practice) that he is planning on making until he can build a one-room house. Really beautiful.

because i am bad at paying attention, i was thinking that "In an effort to help decide where I'm headed for graduate school" was going to be followed by, "I created bricks with the names of grad schools on them" and then somehow broke the bricks or did something to the to decide which one you'd go to.

That's not a bad idea though.

Hey ryan,
I have been trying to figure out how to get a hold of you. My friend's sister is getting married and he asked me if I knew a good photographer for the wedding. I immediately thought you would be the best candidate. I can get your email to him if you'd like. The sooner the better.
