Lost Tape/Summer of Noise
Well, the Michael Jackson-Bad!!!!! Tape is lost. I searched high and low, in every drawer at my house and it's nowhere to be found. Bummer.
So, instead I present to you: The Early Noise Experiments Of Me.
Did anyone else growing up make art and always feel they just need this other tool to make their art better? That was always the case for me. I just needed a better guitar. I just needed a better amp. I just need a good distortion pedal. Want after want was how I spent the first 4 years of my music writing. In Summer of 2003 I discovered more new music, noise. I already had heard Black Dice, Wolf Eyes, and a few noise acts, but I wasn't totally impressed. Then, "Here Comes The Indian" by the Animal Collective started receiving all sorts of buzz. So, out of curiousity, I decided to see what all the hype was about. I downloaded "Slippi" from Insound and was shocked. I didn't quite like it at first, I didn't even really understand it. But, the marching band horns stuck with me. I quickly looked for interviews or photogaphs to see what they used to create these strange noises.
-Microphones, Check
-Effect Pedals, Check
-Guitar, Check
-Drums, Check
-Synthesizer, Check
-Sampler,
AHHH! That was the missing link a sampler. So, I thought about it for a week and decided to buy one (I had plenty of money in the bank because I had been pushing carts at Target for over a year). I went to Guitar Center and bought it. It felt so strange because all my other purchase before were planned much further ahead of time. So the missing link was linked. I had everything I "need" to write great songs. I took the sampler to my studio area (which at the time was my mom's home beauty shop that she was not using, long long story). I plugged everything in, I plugged a small radio and mic in the sampler and began improvising as I thought the animal collective would do. The following is one of the summers attempt at noise. Though I had a Boss Digital Four Track, I recorded a lot of the experiments on a crappy cassette because i thought it was cooler at the time. Analog, Dude.

Next time, The Early Recordings Of Chelsea Who Loves Animals.
Also, a better design.

I like the design... Don't change it. :(
Your early noise experiment is very scary. I almost had an anxiety attack thinking a serial killer was coming to get me.

Annimal: You are the coolest cat in town.
Lindsay Cool: You are one fly mutha-f*cka (that's actually from Annimal). Your beats are phat.
