The Most Heartbreaking Show On MTV

Parental Control.

description from MTV: "Thanks to MTV's new Parental Control, Mom and Dad finally have a chance to do something about that poor excuse for a loser their son or daughter calls their 'better half.' Fed-up parents will send their pride and joy on two blind dates of their choosing, in the hopes that one of them will catch his or her eye so they'll finally dump What's-Their-Name. All the while Mom and Dad will be watching every minute of every date, sitting side-by-side with their son's or daughter's current partner on the couch like one big, uncomfortable family. When the dates are over, the son or daughter has to make a choice between Mom's pick, Dad's pick and their current partner. Will the son or daughter follow parental guidance, or reject the parents' picks and stick with The-Wrong-One."

okay, imagine that you have been dating this girl for 6mo.-1 year. Suddenly, MTV comes along and gives her parents a chance to get rid of you. You sit in a living room, watching guys go out with your girlfriend. On top of that, her parents insult you the entire time. Now, imagine the end; you're standing there waiting to her her decision. The two other guys she just met, standing on opposite sides. She makes her choice. She picks the other guy!! Holy Crap, talk about the worst day of your life!

A friend in the future: "Hey, remember when you were falling in love with that girl, and then you went on MTV and she picked that guy who was ripped and had a nice smile? That must have sucked dude!"

Tonight the girl didn't pick her boyfriend. I seriously wanted to cry. He went in a room and closed the door. Then, the girlfriend goes on camera with the new guy, laughs about it and kisses him. WTF? WTF?

yeah this show is seriously so sad, there was one where this sXe Vegan boyfriend got dumped for some karate guy. i was so sad for him. And just before that he watched her eat meat even though she was vegetarian. What a stab in the heart. i admit that sometimes the boyfriends or girlfriends seem like jerks but seeing someone getting dumped on TV is so sad.

wow.... no kidding. thats pretty heartbreaking. just to know that your girlfriends parents think your a little shit. that hurts enough. but for them to contact mtv? CRAZY!

I am ashamed to say it, but last week, during a moment of weakness, I watched a marathon of that show. Mainly becuase I was in awe of what the hell was goin on. I would feel bad for the dudes who get dumped if these people had decent stable relationships. The fact that the girlfriend would agree to this should show anyone that the relationship isnt serious in the first place, or that she is an attention seeking hussy. All of these people are looking for their 15 minutes and getting it anyway they can. They deserve what they get.

FUck MTV! Play some goddamn videos!

I would rather be dumped by...rather than remain in a relationship with a person who would agree to risk the relationship to be on television in the first place.

Indeed these kinds of shows are making me sick. My friends sit in front of the TV and watch them all day. They're so exploitive and vulgar. What's worse is their meat-market sexual explicitness that degrades real loving relationships. I think we need to avoid watching this kind of garbage, even if it is so fascinatingly horrid.
