Windows is too hard for people...

I work for GVSU at the Digital Studio. My job mostly consist of sitting and looking at websites, but sometimes we get work. That usually consists of digitizing VHS/DV tapes or scanning documents to put on Blackboard. It's an okay job, and I can usually get my homework done.

Today, the phone rang. I hate when the phone rings; i'm so terrible at communicating with them. I can't see the person, I can't see what they're talking about and when they call they're always on a PC. I don't know Windows anymore. Once I got a Mac, i never went back (sorry). The caller today was trying to burn a simple data disc. I could tell he was very frustrated by his tone and speed. "Hi, I'm trying to burn a freakin' data disc, and i'm about to give up and do it the old fashion way." All I could say was, "okay." He didn't say anything. I then asked, "Well, what software are you using?" (pause), "Windows! Why is this so hard?" This is where I realized Windows is too hard for people. Everyone wants a computer to do everything for them. They want to sit back, put in a disc and have it copied in two seconds. Windows does not have any default software that allows you to simply burn a Data CD (unless I am mistaken. then in that case this post is some crap). You need Roxio or that Adaptec or whatever it's called. What a bunch of crap.

Pop a CD-R into a Mac. The first thing it asks is what you'd like to do with it. So easy! Old people just need to spend the extra money and buy a mac. You don't have to worry about all the antivirus software, all the defrags, the extra software, the error messages, DOS, etc. None of that crap.

Buy a Mac. Unless you like doing extra work, and an ugly OS.

(such a geeky post this has turned into. i feel like i should have a linux penguin somewhere.)

there.
