Yo Dude! Are you ready to get fueled by the Holy Spirit!?
Let me here an Amen!

Pastor Dupin (Heck Yeah, he uses K2!)
Since I moved here I have driven pass this giant, office looking building. The sign says "Daybreak...", and I noticed what appeared to be a ropes course or play structure. For 5 months I drove past it, always curious, but I would always forget to google search it. Then a week or so ago I did. "Daybreak Hudsonville MI".
It turned out to be a church...possibly, the weirdest, trendiest, church I have ever seen. I mean look at this graphic for something called "Fuel":

WHAT? Look at there pastor (top image)...actually, wait. Look at the youth pastor:

I came from churches that tried once and awhile to be "hip", but never this bad. It was always such a turn-off to me. Maybe it's because I hate this lets-pretend-to-be-like-the-mainstream-but-with-jesus thing. Have you guys heard Christian Rock music? Ok, whatever was popular 6 months ago, thats what's popular in the christian market. Oh, and ska too. Christians love ska for some reason.
I understand where these guys are coming from. They want to get the kids who are uncomfortable in the traditional setting, comfortable. But, are they really doing that? Or are they scaring these kids into thinking Christians are weird wannabe hipsters. I don't know. Personally, I hate it. When I walk into a church like this I get so angry. When I walk into a christian bookstore I get even angrier. Why are they selling these?:

What is this for? Are christians only supposed to eat christian candy? Where does this candy come from? Is it Hersheys with a poorly designed wrapper?
Christianity depresses me sometimes. Check out that Daybreak site. It's weird. What's weirder is the fact that it really doesn't have anyone solid content on it. It's mostly "cool" graphics.
listen to a sermon
(G-Rad does potlucks)
Looks like they have a killer band:
This is pretty amazing too.(I think the music is by Skillet, the christian answer to Nine Inch Nails, who I was so into in 7th grade)
This was an unorganized rant.

I'm surprised you even supplemented this absurdity with words. Good catch, though. (Er, or not, rather?)

Strangely enough, I've actually had the Testamints and they're not half bad. Plus I heard you're guaranteed a spot in heaven if you eat them, and they're running out.

Christianity can seriously be scary... I can't even imagine what a conversation would be like with one of the pastors... I hate how it's so mainstream. What happened to being humble?

"Or are they scaring these kids into thinking Christians are weird wannabe hipsters." --YES
These type of hip churches are so transparent that it makes you question even more.
So weird. Kinda off the subject but I think those guys who rip bibles for God are really weird. Why would god be happy you ripped a bible in front of some kids?

i remember seeing commercials for a youth group or something in the area that seems very much like this. it had skateboarding, playing guitars and just being exTreme (if you can make that t the Cross somehow...). i wonder if it's the same group. probably not, the one you found looks really professional.
ugh...and names like 'wes' and 'clint'. so hip!

SKA! Hilarious. Such a good observation! I never really got that.
What is crazy is that the Republican who will probably run for the US Senate seat this year started his own church and is now a millionaire as a result. When did preaching become so hugely entrepreneurial?

I have been looking through that whole site. its nuts! I dont see how anybody says to themselves "this is sooo cool!I must be a part of it!"

interesting topic. i'm discusted with they lack of critical thinking on the part of huge masses of people who claim to try to live life like their hero, but miss it almost altogether. some christians miss the whole point and expose it exponentially, and it overshadows people who are trying to live it humbly.

Truly terrifying. Thankfully, it has nothing to do whatever with the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
