Dreams
My dreams have had the same setting, in the past few months. It's a quiet ghostly suburb. There are no lawns; just miles of dirt, littered with piles of bricks and stacks of 2x4's. There are few finshed houses, the majority of them are just wooden frames, or only half finished. It's cloudy, and the neighbordhood is always completly empty. The houses that are finished are dark, and full of complex hallways. Nothing ever happens in the dreams. I'm either alone or with one other person.
The next short story I write for Storymaking will be set in this neighborhood.
